MacroBiotic Diet

This weekend I got a little curious. Went to see a conference about Macrobiotic Diet. It was interesting to see. The speaker was an Italian guru for this course, talking about different goods and bads of the food and explaining the whole concept of how you can gain positive energy from the food you eat or vice versa saying that people who eat red meat are usually more aggressive. Macrobiotic diet is referred to as: A macrobiotic diet (or macrobiotics), from the Greek "macro" (large, long) and "bios" (life), The macrobiotic diet and philosophy were developed by a Japanese educator named George Ohsawa, who believed that simplicity was the key to optimal health. It is a way of eating that involves eating grains as a food supplemented with other foodstuffs such as vegetables and beans, and avoiding the use of highly processed or refined foods. Macrobiotics also address the manner of eating, by recommending against overeating, and requiring that food be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.
It was a fascinating concept of the what you eat, how you eat it and when you eat it. Altogether creating an overall happiness within yourselves.

Typically, people interested in the macrobiotic diet are seeking a healthy way of eating that integrates physical, spiritual, and planetary health.

The macrobiotic diet is a low-fat, high fiber diet that is a predominantly vegetarian diet, emphasizing whole grains and vegetables. In addition, the macrobiotic diet is rich in phytoestrogens from soy products.

Because low-fat, high fiber diets are often recommended for cancer and other chronic diseases, the macrobiotic diet has been used by people with these conditions. The phytoestrogen content may be protective and reduce the risk of estrogen-related cancers such as breast cancer. However, further research is needed to clarify whether the macrobiotic diet is effective in cancer prevention and treatment.

People with serious medical conditions such as cancer or AIDS should always seek proper medical care. Some people try the diet because they heard it can cure their disease, but reseach has not substantiated these claims.

Bio / Organic Union

I have met today an amazing shop-keeper in Barcelona who runs this small little store in the small little street in Barcelona. Surprisingly she has one of those stores that you might find on every corner in England or LA, but in Spain is very rare. This store has a lot of bio organic products. Amazing store of natural harmony of unknown stuff. All you can imagine: bio degradable plastic bags made out of maze, good price products that compete with the high-street 'Veritas' store where you can find the most of the ecological products.
I loved to speak with this lady, and offered her to be a part of our Bio / Organic Union. I hope who ever reads this that you will also enjoy viewing her page: www.mapubarcelona.com there you can find maze nappies, biological cosmetics, organic food and many many more and we truly hope and believe that there would be a future in keeping a relations with this lady and that soon we will be able to offer you all those still rare products also on our www.si-bio.com union translated in 4 different languages (English, Spanish, French and Slovak)

What is out there ORGANIC/ BIO

Did you know there are tones of shops where you can buy bio products all over the world? Let me help you: bamboo t-shirts, hemp shorts, goose isolation, natural cosmetics, biodynamic wine, organic food, Eco-Friendly Biodegradable Catering, maze nappies...

Me and my organic stuff

I love organic stuff, makes me feel closer to the nature, closer to where i come from, closer to who i am. I have never been much of the extremely interested in any of this stuff, but just as when you are a kid and don't know much about the things you are CURIOUS.

I became curious about all this things. Organic, green, bio, fair-trade...stuff that became a 'fashion' in western countries...something that has always been something 'normal' in less developed countries. Civilization and progress had to go through damaging the best out of its own things before it made a big loop and came back to its basics. Literally, organic, bio and green food comes backs to the natural 'grand-mum's garden' type of food...

It makes me laugh, because thats the way it is. Looking back, did your grand-mum used any pesticides to make the carrots grow bigger? NO, did you grand-pa used all sorts of chemicals to make things grow faster, redder, greener, bigger,.......... the answer would be no...they have been therefore growing the veg the ORGANIC way.

Then we got super modernized and got super-hyper-express-supermarkets, that brought us any products at any time of the year. Handy? Definitely yes. Healthy? Definitely no. But just as anything good or bad before, it had to make a big loop of testing, generations of using it, before we could claim, this or that is bad, unhealthy, better or worse for kids, pregnant women, everybody.

I had to do the same loop in my life...going through the stupid teenage-age to more responsible and aware person.

Have you touched organic cotton, have you tried bamboo t-shirt, did you wear hemp trousers, did you eat bio or organic food? IT'S SO MUCH BETTER (talking for myself). The organic clothes are softer, the bio food tastes better, and i am telling you if it makes me feel better it must be in some way better for me.

To Be or Not To Be BIO

It's hard to tell somebody you should eat meat, you should not eat eggs, you have to consume this or not to consume that.

We live in a brilliant world where you can do what you want from considerably early ages. Having an option of eating what we desire and as the market is changing and evolving towards more natural way of living, further extremist parts are arising to our view.

There are so many different directions you can take, and so many options you can choose from it is almost difficult to specify what you are if you are a VEGETARIAN.

But this is good, you can be what you want to be, you can take an extreme version of Veganism or the light way of so-so Vegetarianism (if there's such word) and be always happy. Most of my friends believe it or not (ranging from 21-45years old) are vegetarians 80% of the time. This means that only 20% of their food intake is meat (including fish in this group), which is considerably good.

I believe that the average people have needs to eat meet, which ever type this would be, whether it is a raw stake or healthy fish, due to its different consistency, texture, flavor or general taste. Just imagine you would be eating all your live bananas, wouldn't you like to try apples? Maybe not, but at least you have an option.

To be or not to be an extreme wing on organic or vegan food is a personal choice that if your brain believes it makes you feel better...it definitely will be followed by your body. If you think you want to be vegan go for it, you have to do it for yourself, otherwise you will not feel well and you will always feel like something you are eating is not right. If you believe organic food is better then you have to eat organic food. Because although it is not scientifically proven that organic food is better for general health of human beings, it has been proven that people like it more because it taste better and make them feel better because of no obvious reasons.

I am sure a lot of you heard about placebo effects during the WW1 and 2. Well if Organic food, bio stuff or extreme wings of vegetarianism makes you feel better...that's definitely the way to go.

There is no right or wrong answer in regards to your own healthy, body and well-being.

How did i get into organic & bio

As you know not many people pay attention to their health until they are sick. Some people pay attention to what they eat, but don't care where it came from, and some people don't want to eat certain food just because they cannot or don't want to.

Well I believe i come into this last last last group...one day i just got totally disgusted by the view that has been given to me at that time in my school canteen. Pretty gross, seeing the amounts of food being touched by other people's hands and then served for masses of kids. I would not even want to go into hygienic point of this, but all together, it was pretty interesting.

And that was the time when i became a vegetarian as at the age of 15.

Being a vegetarian wasn't that simple back in my time and choosing not to eat mum's fabulous food was at that time also part of the rebel teenage time...I wanted and did go against everything i could possibly go, fought lost fights, won impossible battles of personal persuasions, believes and power.

As I moved to England (age 17) if found it much easier to continue my uniqueness without those silly personal fights, without having to persuade or explain people why i don't eat meat. It was easy, comfortable and all together went with the trend that the west cultures started to adopt for couple of years back then.

My passion has just grown. It has grown stronger and bigger over the years, not even to the next or further extremes like veganism or some of those groups of people that i admire, but still don't understand. But my passion has grown towards the growing market of organic - biological stuff...Of course this would only be manageable hand in hand with the growing market in this sector.

As a teenager who was becoming more independent, studying English and American marketing, internationalization, trends and progress of where the market is going those days, I rapidly realized that this is not about the personal fights, not about going against the flow, but find the right direction...to become a part of the group that i belong to but never knew of. So from the personal fight, my passion has become a personal / group interest (age of 24).

And there we go now. I am a woman who has strong experience in more than 2 cultures, who has traveled and studied hard in order to realize and see what I need to do. I was fat, i was skinny, i was happy and i was sad, but all together, now i am MYSELF...

I, who knows what is good for me and what isn't, what i shall do and what really should not and i would like to share all this experience with you.
